    Summer Camps

    Come explore the wonderful, slimy, wet, magic and beautiful world of nature at the USU Botanical Center this summer! Each summer camp in our series is designed to a particular age group and is full of fun, hands-on experiments for investigating the world in which we live.

    Discounts

    If you are eligible for multiple discounts, only one discount may be applied.

    • Registered members can receive a 20% off discount for their children. 

    Aggie Adventure Camp Policy

    • Payment is required at time of registration
    • Payments are nonrefundable unless arrangements have been made two weeks prior to any camp
    • Payment is non-transferable

    Camps are held at the Utah House, 920 South 50 West Kaysville, Utah.

    Treasure Island/X Marks the Spot!

    When: June 19th or August 1st
    Time: 9 am – noon
    Cost: $30
    Ages: 8-12

     

    Ahoy Matey! Come sail the seven seas with us on our own Kaysville ponds, learn how to read a map and help us look for pirate treasure and have many pirate adventures! Learn about famous pirates in history and come up with your very own pirate name as well as make your own pirate gear! We need brave scallywags for our Aggie Adventures crew! Anchors away!

    Science, Slime and Smiles!

    When: June 21st or July 17th
    Time:

    Are you a mad scientist? Do you like making crazy concoctions? If so this camp is for you! Come join us as we learn about the scientific method and test your own experiments! We will be making edible potions and slime that you can play with! Let your mad scientist come out for this crazy camp!

    Junior Master Gardener Camp

    When: June 5th, 12th & 19th

    Day 1 - “Learn How Plants Grow” Learn all about plant anatomy and how plants put air, water and sunlight together to make their own food.

    Day 2 - “ Plant Something in the Garden” Spend a day learning about soil, weeding and planting in the garden.

    Day 3 -  “Make Something Tasty from the Garden” Learn how to harvest fruits and vegetables and how to make a simple tasty dish with food you picked.

    Outdoor Adventures

    When: 2 Day, June 5th and 7th, or June 26th and 28th

    Climb a tree! Build a shelter! Skip a stone! Make a mud pie! Set up a snail race! Create some wild art! Walk barefoot! Roll down a really big hill! Blow a grass trumpet! Build a home for a wild animal! Discover what lives in the Kaysville Ponds! These and many more outdoor activities will keep you moving in this action packed outdoor adventure summer camp.

    Outside and Unplugged

    When: 2 Day, June 12th and 14th, or July 10th and 12th

    Get outside, breathe in the fresh air and have a blast in this fast-paced 2-day outdoor camp. Pick berries growing in the wild! Explore the inside of a tree! Hunt for bugs! Build a raft! Find a geocache! Hold a scary beast! Make a trail with sticks! Dam a stream! Fly a kite! This camp will be filled with fun.

    Perfect Planet!

    When: June 20th or July 19th

    Let’s save the planet together! Build a fountain that runs on solar energy, make a wind powered tool, cook some food with solar energy. Make a recycled art project, paint with the sun and clean the ponds while riding in a canoe! Join us in learning about our wetland animals and how we can protect them!

    Garden Gnomes and Fairies

    When: June 13th or July 18th

    Keep your eyes open for garden gnomes and fairies hiding at the USU Botanical Center as you explore the magic of plants! Guided by fairy and garden gnome folklore, you will create a fairy crown or garden gnome hat, discover a hidden picnic, and plant a garden of your own to take home. Feel free to come dressed as a garden gnome, your favorite fairy, or yourself for a morning filled with wonder.

    Junior Architect in a Cardboard World

    When: June 6th or July 11th

    What type of building can you design and build with cardboard, tape, and a few other odds and ends? Will it look like a castle? A spaceship? A Hobbit home? During this camp, you will brainstorm as a group and decide on a style and then plan together through drawings what the final project will be. Finally, you will work as a team and implement your design and build your creation. Participants will learn about the design process using plan view and elevation drawings and have fun creating what they first imagined.

    A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…. there was the Aggie Adventure space camp! Join us on an epic adventure learning about our solar system! Design your own planet, Learn about solar energy and make a constellation projector! Shoot for the stars with us in this educational adventure!
